Five Best Running Locations that are Can’t Miss

As a runner, I am also a big craft beer fan. I was looking for the five best beers in the world and realized I’ve never looked up the five best running locations. To my surprise, I’ve run in two of the five locations suggest by GPT. We’ll share some thoughts on the list below as a potential candidate for your next run!

Here are the Five Best Running Locations

  1. Central Park, New York City, USA

I’ve been to Central Park but not as a runner. I can agree with this one as the number one location on the list. It’s an iconic location with paved routes that not only has stunning views, but great people watching. The loop is only six miles, so if you need some mileage, you may need to plan a few loops. It should work for most runs and those views have to be fantastic.

    2. The Seawall, Vancouver, Canada

I’ve also been here, but never run here. From what I see, this path goes along the water and has just incredible views. How motivating is that? Even better, the route is flat. Being a runner in the midwestern USA, I would be open to some flat runs with the addition of beautiful scenery. The path goes 17 miles, which should give you plenty of room to fit in even the longest run.

      3. The Lakefront Trail, Chicago, USA

I used to live in Chicago and this path is part of the reason I started running. It’s a straight path extending 18 miles. If you want room to run and a simple path to follow, Chicago’s Lakefront Trail is perfect. The paved trail goes along Lake Michigan with gorgeous views of the water on one side and the city skyline on the other. My only complaints are the occasional stop lights, sometimes change from concrete to pavement, and crowds. You will forget all of these issues as you run south into the city with stunning views from North Avenue beach.

      4. The Thames Path, London, UK

I’ve traveled here for work a few times and this is a great way to see the city in a short period of time. If you like a mix of city sights and quiet riverside sections, the Thames Path is a great choice. It’s flat and has great views of some of the major landmarks in the city. It’s also a great walking location as well. The path is long enough to fit just about any run in.

      5. Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk/Run, Sydney, Australia

I’ve never been to this hemisphere before, but when I do this will be the place to visit. This stunning coastal trail is a beginner’s dream if you don’t mind some gentle hills. You can take it easy and stop at one of the many beaches along the way. The distance is almost 4 miles, so better for sight seeing and a casual jog over any longer training runs.

See the World on the Best Trails in the World

These five best running locations look to be an amazing experience. I really hope I can get the chance to travel to these places. When traveling to a new location, the most important thing is to make sure you are comfortable. Be aware of your surrounds and take the sights and sounds in. These are locations that can motivate anyone. Grab your passport and hit these routes!
